Vitruvius Design

Ecological awareness is central to Vitruvius® Yacht design. The design specification is for each boat is based on three fundamental principles of efficiency, sustainability and robustness. Each yacht has an efficient ratio superstructure/hull; built out of steel and aluminium, they are lightweight, they consume less and have low CO2 emissions.

Each boat features the BOS Hull (Briand Optimised Stretched Hull) and is designed for maximum hydrodynamic efficiency. This reduces water resistance and increases the waterline. The optimisation of volume and weight distribution allows for lower fuel consumption and therefore a more environmentally friendly long range yacht.

Vitruvius® Yachts derives its name from the study of human proportions by the ancient Roman architect Vitruvius. His work inspired the ‘The Vitruvian Man’, the world renowned drawing by Leonardo Da Vinci in 1490, the symbol of ideal proportions. With this symbol, together with the three core principles, the Vitruvius® Yachts concept was born.
